Often, when airlines want to reconfigure an aircraft and install new seats and other furnishings, they consider installing
retrofit interiors or bin extensions at the same time. New furnishings often look contemporary and curvilinear while the original interior architecture looks old. As a supplier of
IUS and
CAP kits, our Interior Architecture team can work with the Integration group to build, install, and certify a new architecture in the aircraft. It will look contemporary, elegant, and may add extra stowage capacity depending on the product line.
If however the airline does not want to refresh the architecture, the reconfiguration program will still require the integrator to plan for and fill in the voids left behind where items were removed. Newly installed or relocated furnishings also require panels and bins to either be modified or replaced with more accommodating form factors. As a result of this, the Integration team designs and produces uniquely sized items that match the look and function of existing architectural parts. In addition to these items, the team also supplies special transition panels and closeout parts that are typically required to finish off areas of the existing architecture.
