Integration is a core part of our business, and our Certification team keeps it that way. From program onset, we draft a certification plan to communicate our intent to the FAA. From there, the team coordinates efforts between all parties involved, including applicable regulatory agencies. As the project gets rolling, in-house FAA DERs verify drawings as they become available and produce 8110-3s. As items get built, in-house FAA DMIRs verify them for compliance and produce 8130-3 airworthiness tags to ship with them. With aircraft embodiment, interior compliance and electrical DERs "walk the plane" to do their inspections and witness tests, producing more 8110-3s. From these activities, the "Cert" team gathers all the data and packages it for the FAA to apply for a STC. It sounds complicated, and it is. Add 50 planes to the mix, with three different configuration styles, and it's even more so. That's why the airlines rely on us to reconfigure their aircraft fleets. It's also why the other value streams rely on Certification's support to assist them with their own programs.
