2000 Onwards

In early 2000, the Interiors Division of Hexcel formally separated from the conglomerate when Hexcel sold the group to Britax International. The company became known as Britax Heath Tecna and was a division of the Britax Aircraft Interior System (AIS). Then in 2004, Britax Heath Tecna officially became Heath Tecna, Inc., a member of the Britax Premium Aircraft Interiors Group.  By this time, operations had expanded globally to better serve international customers, and Heath Tecna was managing facilities in the UK (Heath Tecna Camberley) and Australia (Heath Tecna Avalon).

By 2005, the holding company of Britax International sold the Childcare Division, along with the Britax brand name. All of the aerospace companies under the Britax banner at the time, including Contour, DASELL, Sell, and Heath Tecna, were rebranded as members of the Premium Aircraft Interiors Group (PAIG). As members of PAIG, synergies between the companies deepened and customers benefited from the their unified resources.

By the end of the decade, during a downturn in the economy, management of Heath Tecna operations changed. The international facilities in the UK and Australia reported directly to PAIG, and the Heath Tecna headquarters in Bellingham reorganized into a value stream organization. Following the principles of 5S, 3P, and other lean methodologies, Heath Tecna weathered the downturn to become an even stronger interiors supplier.

Throughout the 2000s and into today, Heath Tecna's portfolio has become very diverse. Orders for custom cabin furnishings have skyrocketed for both retrofit and line fit markets. NuLook® IUS kits have been developed for B747 and B767 aicraft, and continue to be a popular choice for airlines wanting to upgrade the interior architecture of their planes. Reconfiguration programs have increased dramatically, with Heath Tecna's integration services and kits continuing to be in high demand. OEM orders have steadily risen, including significant work performed on both the A380 and MRJ platforms. And aftermarket activities continue to grow, with the Aftermarket Services group achieving AS9120 certification to distribute spare parts for the aerospace industry.
